Xerox Gives EFI Connect Attendees Sneak-Peek on new Digital Press
Yesterday was a busy first day at Connect, the EFI users’ group meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event, which is taking place at the Las Vegas Wynn through January 18, is one of the industry’s best venue for open dialogue and idea-exchange in 2013.
Hundreds of print professionals are here to learn about the key trends and technologies that will grow their businesses. And leading companies like Xerox have joined us to participate in the industry conversation.
Today’s events started with opening remarks from EFI CEO Guy Gecht, who really captured the excitement happening in the industry. It was a room filled with industry professionals who knew what any casual observer of the printing industry would miss: that print, done with the right tools, with the right focus on high-value marketing opportunity, is an important, integral part of an overall transformation in communications.
Those messages are playing out in the more than 150 sessions taking place at Connect this week, covering everything from Management Information Systems and Enterprise Resource Planning all the way to higher volume production and large-format market opportunities.
A lab area at Connect is filled with leading-edge technologies operating in real-world operating environments. Many Xerox customers at the Connect are happy to see the newest generation of their production driver system, EFI Fiery®, and excited to see how Fiery can make their operations even more efficient as it is now the first JDF-certified digital front end technology for digital printing.
Connect attendees are also getting a sneak peek at a new, yet-to-be-launched Xerox production color press. It is on display in the Xerox booth located just inside the main conference area. EFI customers will be hard pressed to keep it secret, but we expect more details to be unveiled by Xerox soon.
