“That can’t be right”  was just one of the many reactions from visitors to the Xerox stand at FESPA London, June 25-29, when they saw the speed and image quality of the new Xerox Wide Format IJP 2000. But, yes, it is right. The IJP 2000 really does print that fast with excellent print quality.

Print service providers and channel partners  from far and wide responded enthusiastically to our newly launched wide format printer. We even took our first order during the show from a large Danish customer.

For the first time wide format suppliers are being offered the powerful combination of high speed (420 square metres or 4,520 square feet per hour) and high image quality (1600 x 1600 dpi) – which gives them incredible productivity and flexibility in producing high quality indoor signage, posters and banners.

Show attendees were also drawn by the range of available media, as well as the small footprint of the unit.

The printing of the 10 metre (30 foot) banner, spanning the width of the stand floor in only one minute, was hugely popular. Check out the video that I made of it on my iPhone.

While at FESPA, Xerox  also picked-up a couple of European Digital Press association awards. The Xerox D95/D100/D125 was awarded best multifunction printer and the Impika iPrint Compact collected the best production web-fed printer award.

Overall it was an exciting week for the print community. Did you attend the FESPA show? What were some of your favorite highlights?
