What would it mean for your business if you could complete jobs 40 times faster than you do now?
Some wide-format printers are finding out. The ultra-fast, high-quality wide-format printer—the Xerox® Wide Format IJP 2000—on the market now for more than two years, prints as fast as six inches per second or less than 5 seconds for a 24″ x 36″ sign. That’s over 40 times faster than the several minutes or more traditional plotters take to produce the same poster.
The IJP 2000 will be on display at FESPA (Federation of European Screen Printers Associations) 2015 in Cologne Germany May 18-22 and already is helping to transform the businesses of many print shops around the world.
Enabling Growth
Take Capital Graphics in Saint James, N.Y., which recently had what many would consider to be a pleasant problem. The nine-employee company was producing about 500 signs, posters and banners per week for area supermarkets and food wholesalers when it landed new business that increased weekly production by 2,000 signs. That was more than its fleet of five traditional, multi-pass inkjet devices could handle, even with a second shift.
Seeking a more productive printing solution, Capital Graphics acquired an IJP 2000. It has permitted the firm to avoid adding a second shift while delivering “fantastic” print quality, cost savings of 20 to 25 percent, and a five-fold increase in print volume, according to Phil Lynch, president, Capital Graphics. “We can’t believe the speed of the machine,” he said. “What used to take us all day to print can be printed in an hour or so.”
Accelerating Turns
As Denmark’s third largest bank, Jyske Bank, based in Silkeborg, differentiates itself by designing branches as customer lounges and running edgy marketing campaigns. The IJP 2000 fits right in. The firm uses it for point-of-sale signage, architectural drawings—and for extremely fast-turn posters supporting Jyske Bank’s sponsorship of the Children’s Cancer Foundation’s annual Sports Car Event.
That event gives child cancer sufferers a pleasant distraction from their difficult circumstances with their family. They are offered tours of the racetrack in the coolest sports cars. At the start Jyske Bank photographed participants and drivers for a team photo, printed 120 A2 (16.5 x 23.5 inches) posters on the IJP 2000 at bank headquarters 20 minutes away, and drove them back to the track in time for the drivers to sign and present them to the children.
“This day puts a smile on all the familys faces, and in a few hours forget illness and hospital” said Lene Bæk, Marketing Coordinator at Jyske Bank. “The IJP 2000’s speed and quality makes it possible to give them a memorial in hand on the way home – it is unique.”
At FESPA, the IJP 2000 will be configured with a new inline Fotoba FHS42 Cutter to achieve the industry’s fastest production of full-bleed and multi-up posters, banners and signage, at speeds as fast as five seconds per page. By automating production, the Fotoba cutter improves profitability, turn times and growth capacity. It is available immediately. In addition, the IJP 2000 will be equipped with the performance package, which optimizes image quality and provides additional scan-to-print/file capabilities.
