The new Xerox iGen4 EXP Press brings expanded operation

Yesterday we announced our new Xerox iGen4 EXP Press.
iGen4
This digital press, built on the Xerox iGen4 Press, comes with expanded capabilities including a workflow that accepts jobs and moves them from order to finish— from the web to the loading dock— with virtually no operator intervention. The components within the Web-to-Finish solution include: Xerox FreeFlow Web Services, FreeFlow Process Manager, Freeflow Print Server, Ultimate Impostrip and Ultimate Bindery.
iGen4 EXPA new sheet size is also available: 14.33” x 26” (364mm x 660mm) that let’s you provide jobs that other printers can’t. You’ve got full size tri-fold brochures, more business cards and postcards up per sheet, book covers, and more. It starts with a modified feeder tray or optional DocuSheeter iG, and it finishes either in the external side tray, top tray or an optional Multigraf Stacker with the removable cart where jobs are stacked, ready for finishing.
Already have a Xerox iGen4 Press? No worries! While order taking begins immediately with fourth quarter installations, beginning in 2011 Xerox customers can easily convert their iGen4 to an iGen4 EXP.
We will be showing the Xerox iGen4 EXP at Graph Expo, so if you can’t make it in person; we’ve got a great virtual demo for you to learn all about this exciting new digital press!!!

The print format is ideally suited for 3-fold, 6 page, A4 sized brochures. Some of the ideal Application will be Photo Album, Book work (section sewed books), Posters, etc.

does the new page size autoperfect?

Hi Graham! The iGen4 EXP does auto-duplex the 26″ sheet up for all weights (up to 350gsm). Printing at 120 8.5″ x 11″ (A4) impressions per minute; you’ll achieve 20 2-sided sheets per minute.

Can Igen3 be retrofitted to run this new size ?

      Hi Mike,
Great question! You can only upgrade from an iGen4.

The longer tray is a plus; too bad the tray still can’t print to the bottom. A better stacker solution is needed.
